Black Chia Pudding with Greek Yogurt For Your Hair

Black Chia Pudding with Greek Yogurt For Your Hair

Black Chia Pudding

Looking for something all natural to nourish your hair?

The reason why I wanted to create this recipe was because I wanted to do something about my postnatal hair! I think some women out there might understand what I'm talking about. Pregnancy does a lot to your body which as a result will change your hair too.

I lost hair during my second pregnancy and also lost the SHINE and looked like I had really dry hair. That's when I thought about using black sesame as a remedy.

We have been making stone ground black sesame butter for a while in our kitchen and most were bought by Chinese ladies, I remember they were buying it for their hair - no, not as a treatment but to eat it!

Apparently, in traditional Chinese Medicine black sesame seeds are considered as one of the best anti-aging foods and it works to darken your gray hair and make your eyes shiny. My immediate thought was  'is this only for Asians who have dark hair and eyes?' but of course it was a bit deeper then just the black color of the sesame.

Black sesame is rich in hair nourishing vitamins and minerals such as copper, manganese, calcium, magnesium, iron, zinc, phosphorus, vitamin B1, amino acids, selenium, melanin, and also antioxidants such as sesamin, sesamolin, and sesamol. This nourishes our organs and, blood , bringing nutrition to the hair and skin which helps solve the root of the problems.

I've read about a lady who started to reverse her hair color using some natural remedies including black sesame and thought to give it a try. She said her gray hair started to grow black roots.

Aside from this black chia pudding I make a black sesame mylk - just by mixing the black tahini with water (I like to serve this cold) and drinking this.

Please do let me know if you find any differences in your hair too!

Black Chia Pudding

Try this black chia pudding. Its a good recipe to get the goodness of black sesames. Nut and seed butters are not only for spreading on your toast or crackers. They are a great thickener for curries, soups and desserts, like this one. I like this recipe as the mild sourness from the Greek yogurt balances well with the richness of the black tahini.

Our black tahini already has a slight sweetness from the coconut sugar in it so you do not need to add much more sweetener to this recipe but if you think you'd like it sweeter, go ahead and top up on the honey!

1/2 cup, Black Tahini

250g, Greek yogurt (1/2 cup of this tub)
